ST VINCENT DE PAUL FOOD DRIVE

11/25/2015

As we approach the Advent season, our minds begin to focus on getting ready for how we will celebrate Christmas and how we will prepare for this celebration with the ones we love. Sadly, Christmas time can be a very stressful time for those who are experiencing financial pressures as a result of unemployment, illness, disability, mental health illnesses, family breakdowns and other misfortunes. As Catholic people, our mission is to love all of our neighbours and bring hope and life to our brothers and sisters, supporting them in their time of need. From now until the 8th December, we will be holding a Christmas food drive for St. Vincent de Paul. Your support is needed in donating staple pantry food items with a long shelf life (12 months +). These will go towards supporting needy families in our own community. We will be passing these donations on to Dennis Baert, President of our local St Vincent De Paul Society, for him to distribute. You will find a suggested list of items below. Please, we ask that no nutella or nut products be brought in to school. Please send your
items with your child to their classroom and their teachers will direct them from there. Any contribution is appreciated.
